Meno Slope is the primary dive site on the western shore of Gili Meno, offering a gradual multi-level descent from 5 m to 30 m along a sandy slope peppered with coral bommies, fan corals, barrel sponges, and table corals. The site is genuinely multi-level: the upper section at 5–12 m is a relaxed coral garden accessible to Open Water students, while the deeper ridge sections at 20–30 m offer richer macro life and stronger currents more suited to intermediate and experienced divers.

The shallow section is dotted with anemones hosting multiple clownfish species, and the resident population of green sea turtles is one of the densest in the Gili Islands — encounters with multiple turtles on a single dive are routine. The mid-slope at 12–20 m is where Meno Slope earns its macro reputation: pygmy seahorses have been found on the gorgonian fans here, hairy squat lobsters peer from crinoid fronds, and ghost pipefish hover in open water near sea grass patches. Leaf scorpionfish sit almost invisibly on rubble. As the slope deepens beyond 20 m, giant moray eels extend from crevices, fusiliers form dense schools moving with the current, and spiny lobsters are common under coral overhangs. Nudibranchs in a wide variety of species browse throughout.

Conditions are generally calm and current is mild, making this a popular choice for second or third dives in the Gili schedule. Visibility runs 12–25 m. Suitable for all certified divers.

Diver tips: Plan a descending entry and work your way down the slope before ascending slowly for your safety stop in the coral-rich upper section. The turtles are most active in the morning — book an early dive for the best encounters. If time permits, extend the dive to the deeper ridge sections where fusilier clouds and the occasional passing reef shark add a more dynamic element to the dive.
